Description

This diamond type tapered floating screw is used together with the round type screw (CP155-LM) to locate clamping modules (CP150, CP151, CP152) in systems requiring compensation for hole pitch changes caused by workpiece distortion. A floating bushing allows the screw to accommodate mounting-hole misalignment, while the tapered surface serves as the locating reference; before tightening, the tapered pin is rotated so its reference faces align with the required locating direction. Used together with compatible clamp modules, the system supports conversion between standard clamping and distortion-compensation modes. For locating points using Round and Diamond type tapered floating screws, mounting holes should be machined to a spacing tolerance of ±0.02 mm. An O-ring holds the clamping screw in a fixed rotational orientation and can be replaced with a commercially available equivalent when needed. Tapered pin is made from 1045 steel, precision ground, with a black oxide finish. Clamping screw is made from 4135 steel, quenched and tempered, with a black oxide finish.
