This convenient light-duty pneumatic locator module is part of a Flex locating system that enables high-precision positioning and can be utilized for quick change in machining operations. For fixture plate changeover this module is mounted to a base plate and a clamping pin is attached to the fixture plate. This is a single-acting clamp with the air used only for unclamping. Supplying air allows the tapered piston to rise and loosens the balls that hold the pin. Clamping is maintained by spring force even without air supply. Releasing air allows the spring to push down the tapered piston to pull down the clamping pin. Provides 0.06 mm accuracy. Only 0.3 Mpa air pressure is required for operation. This module has two unclamping ports for unclamping. Used with the clamping pins listed in the table. Body made from electroless nickel-plated 4140 steel. Balls made from stainless steel.
