These retractable clamping fasteners provide positive locking in applications requiring quick installation and removal of panels or covers without the need for a separate receptacle. They allow for consistent clamping force, eliminating the chance for under or over tightening by the operator. They are designed to mount directly through a single plate, requiring no mating receptacle on the opposite side. The clamp is mounted to the upper plate, and as the pin contacts the cam surface of the body, the spring compresses to press the plate downward. The shank retracts at the unclamping position to enable operations without interference with the lower plate. Turning the knob one quarter turn locks the clamp into place, producing an audible click to confirm engagement; turning the knob back to the "OFF" position, the shank automatically returns to the unclamping position by the spring. The clamps are marked with "ON" and "OFF" indicators to show the position of the fastening pins. They can be used with embossed guides for rough positioning during installation, and to reduce rotational play when only a single clamp is used.
Body and shank are made from 303 stainless steel. Pin is made from 301 stainless steel. Knob is made from 304 cast stainless steel. Springs are from stainless steel. Two cross recessed countersunk head screws for mounting are included (M2.5X0.45 - 5 mm long). No receptacle is required.
